Planning your Installation
Below is a list of questions you may expect an installer to ask prior to installing a BreatheAudio Whole Home Audio System. This information helps determine the components and resources needed to create the best solution for your space.
- Is the installation for an exisiting home or new construction?
- In which rooms of the home is sound desired? How does the family interact with each room and is there currently audio equipment in those rooms?
- What are the dimensions of each room where there will be sound? Based on those dimensions additional speakers or amplification may be needed. (Recommended for outdoor zones, great rooms, vaulted ceilings, bar or entertainment room and rooms larger than 400 sq. ft.)
- Where will you store the main distribution amp? It can be remotely located in a closet or in the home entertainment center, but should be located near your audio source equipment and power source without the use of extension cords.
- The sum of distances in feet from each room in which sound is desired to main amp equals the footage of CAT5 cable needed.
- The sum of distances in feet from each speaker (channel) location from all zones equals the footage of speaker wire needed. Include any additional speakers added above initial system of 4 pairs.
- What type of speakers will you need? Choose from in-ceiling pairs, in-wall pairs, all-in-one in-ceiling (recommended for small spaces) or rock speakers for outdoor use.
- Where will speakers be located? In-wall, in-ceiling and rock speaker pairs should be situated on either side of the primary listening location, separated 8 to 10 ft. All-in-one ceiling speakers should be situated directly above the primary listening location (see speaker installation guides for details).
- What audio sources will be used with the system?
- Do you have any other accessory needs? (i.e. remotes or amplifiers.)
- In the future would expanding the system be a possibility? If so, extra rooms should be pre-wired now to accommodate such needs as they arise.
